Prickly pear of a situation, huh? I tell you, I once walked into one of those things in my canvas tennis shoes on the way *down* to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, and had to walk the rest of the way down and back up with the stickers in my foot. It was because I suddenly wondered why, when surrounded by all this beauty, I should be looking at the ground all the time. Blam! Straight into the cactus.
