I have a great memory for unimportant things. In '75 when I left home, sirloin steak was 79¢ a pound, in NYC! I'm surprised bacon cost that much in '72 down south...

The price of bacon? It went up due to high demand. The fellow in the photo ate most of it, leaving little for the rest of us. Here he is, bringing home the bacon.

Ah, memories of the good ole (safeway) 70's!
