This neighborhood began its development on the borders of Three Notch’d Road east of Charlottesville close to 100 years before the mass production of automobiles. It was a neighborhood designed for living and walking. Walking to work, walking to recreation, walking to church, walking to the store. Note! The red X above next to lot 14 marks the present day intersection of Franklin and Market Street. Franklin Street didn't exist in the 19th century, "Franklin Street" was a footpath under the railroad tracks.
