parkland


Historically, cities have pursued the acquisition of parkland to mitigate the oppressive congestion, the greyness, that comes with the piling together of rock, roofing, business and people.

Love this photo. Everything laid out so the eye sweeps through the surronding park to those buildings.
I grew up on the fringes of New York ages ago. "The City" was a spot to escape to on afternoons as a teen. It's now an utterly different place.
