cable ferry is a few miles to the left, upriver. The first piece of land on the left here is Weems, near where "King" Carter built his Church. The next point marks the entrance to Carter's Creek and Irvington. In the middle, the spidery barely visible Norris Bridge which connects White Stone and Gray's Point. Foreground on the right is Callis which has been many things. Oyster house, buy boat stop, home to generations of watermen. Behind and to the immediate left, Queenstown Virginia, original county seat of Lancaster County...
