broken bees
Lived in peace with the carpenter bees until today. Sophie wouldn't walk outside for the buzzing. Final straw. Plugged bees holes in the rafter ends with steel wool.

I read somewhere that painting or staining will deter them from drilling into the wood , they are big and loud!
i remember one day i stopped by my dad's house, he's 71, and i saw a similar scene. now they are flying around my back porch.
